"Life is like drawing....Only without the eraser!"
Bio... I remember wet, rainy days as a child being handed sheets of paper, pencils, watercolour paints and the a cup of water and preoccupying myself painting and drawing for hours on end during weekends and damp, wet summer days. I remember my first 'A' in art class, I even still have the project. I remember getting criticised that collages weren’t art and having to move on, ….the excitement of thefuture and what I was going to do. But it all got put on hold, whilst I studied computers and then worked the next 11 years in that area, and with no room or time for pulling out my art materials...they gathered dust. In 2003 I took a leap and decided to move to the UK, and whilst living there ended up having a large space and table provided and so my art took off again, and so did my collages. In 2005 I set up Amg-Arts and slowly and with a bit of courage started to show my work, later I started selling and then I set up my Etsy shop and after selling discovered not only is collages an art; it is an art that sells! In September 2007 I handed in my notice, and decided the self taught artist is going to become a fully fledged artist, and I for the next few months worked on a portfolio with the help of D.I.F.E, and at the end of September 2008 I started my degree in N.C.A.D where I hope to complete a degree in Textile Design, what I have dreamed of doing since Secondary School. Whistle Whilst I Work: I enjoy listening to Damien Rice, The Script, The Corona's, P!nk, David Bowie, Florence and the Machine, Shakira, Kings of Leon, Tori Amos and even Britney. Other Loves in Life: I love working in my garden, on a sunny day. I love walking my dogs, I adore fashion and have learned the act of cramping 'lots' into my closet! I also love to write and run a Facebook Page for my poems and writing. I am addicted to House and Home magazines and also love getting glimpse's into other Artist's Art Studios hence why I run my Blog 'Where People Create'. But most of all my greatest love is working away in my Art Studio. My Plan: At this present moment in time, in the early stages of converting a large loft (old whited washed building over 100 years old) into working studios and workshops, with spectular working space and the most amazing beams all set with a view of the Historical Newgrange and beyond that The Hill of Slane. I Will be teaching classes and workshops here. But in the meantime, the art is produced in an Art Studio in the House. Creative Confidence and Portfolio Preparation Classes: If you want to achieve anything in this life you need ‘self belief’. You need to have the assurance that you can do what ever you want to do or be. To be creative doesn’t mean you have to be able to paint or draw to a high level, art is whatever you produce, it is whether or not you are proud of the ‘piece’ you achieved to call it ‘Art’ for yourself but all is art. Art and creativity you can accomplish by being original, inventive, and resourceful. Art, can be anything from the way you dress, the way you decorate your room, it can be doodles or it can collages, the possibilities are immense. All you have to do is begin…
